I am writing a book about the prayer of St. Francis of Assisi. It is a commentary on the prayer of St. Francis that can serve as a dovotional or just good reading.  If you are interested in some excerpts from the book, I will be glad to post them.

Prayer of St. Francis
Lord make me an instrument of your peace
Where there is hatred, let me sow love
 Where there is injury, pardon
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so
much seek to be consoled as to console
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
For it is in the giving that we receive;
It is in the pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in the dying that we are born to Eternal Life,
AMEN

Its a great day in the neighborhood.  When I catalogue all of my faults I have to use a texas instrument calculator.  The strange thing is, when I look to my future and all of the opportunities awaiting me, I have to use the same calculator to come up with the total sum.  Lesson, don't take yourself to seriously and remember that there has never been a storm that lasted forever.  Life is like our taste buds.  Our taste buds recognizes four distinct flavors (sweet-sour-salty and umumy).  In our lives we experience the same tastes.  The beauty of it all is when we experience them all, it makes life that much more satisfying.  Enjoy life, its a journey, not a short destination, we are always in pursuit of that right combination of sweet-sour-salty-and umumy.
